News from Casal Santa Eulalia Restaurant

On a recent visit to the north of the island we stopped by Casal Santa Eulalia Restaurant in Can Picafort to catch up with Chef Marcos Blanco and his team. We even stayed to enjoy al fresco dining under the stars at one of their bi-weekly barbecues. – It was delicious and such a great atmosphere too!

The barbecues are held on Mondays and Wednesdays.

On Mondays it’s a meat barbecue, starting with tapas of the day which change every week. Next up is the Mallorcan black pork fillets, homemade sauces and bread made using organic flour, amongst many other specialties – a truly delicious dinner.

On Wednesdays, it’s a fish and seafood barbecue, with seafood tapas and pan-cooked fish and seafood with fresh home-grown vegetables. And for a very special touch, Ametla+ condiments are used, made exclusively from Mallorcan almonds.

Another new development at this restaurant is the organic bread made there. The restaurant makes a different type of bread every day of the week. They work with seven different varieties, all made using local organic flour. Healthy and delicious!

Beautiful video for a beautiful restaurant

Watch a professional cut Serrano ham straight from the bone

Are you a fan of Iberian ham?  Serrano ham or dry-cured Spanish ham is a real delicacy. It is similar to the French jambon de Bayonne and the Italian prosciutto crudo. The Jamón Ibérico is made from at least 75% black Iberian pig.

You may have already seen the hams hanging from some restaurant ceilings in Spain or seen how the ham is thinly sliced – now you can order a plate of ham and watch it being sliced by the professionals at Sa Punta Restaurant in Son Servera, Mallorca.

The restaurant has recently launched its very own ‘Rincón del Jamón‘ or ‘Ham corner’ so that guests can see how the professionals work with the ham and prepare it.

Sa Punta Restaurant also happens to be one of Rafa Nadal’s favourite restaurants, so for great Mediterranean food and maybe even a glimpse of Rafa, make sure you visit Sa Punta.
