New: a Bistro at Jardin

Jardin Restaurant, run by brother and sister team, Dani and the talented Chef, Macarena de Castro has earnt its place amongst the top gourmet restaurants on the island.

We caught up with Macarena and Dani on one of our recent visits to Alcudia, in the north of the island, and they had lots of exciting news!

They have opened a separate offering to the Jardin Restaurant, a bistro, called, quite simply, the Bistro of Jardin.  It offers Mediterranean cuisine at excellent value for money in an informal and pleasant atmosphere for all the family. Open for dinner only.

Specialties include: Fillet of Tuna on the grill with salmorejo sauce. Grandmother’s Eggs. Iberian delicacies with prawns. Hamburgers with foie. Goat’s cheese with tomatoe marmalade. Chocolate Textures. Creme brulée.

New Tapitas Menu at L’Arruzz

L’Arruzz Restaurant (previously known as Tapelia) in Palma de Mallorca is now offering a brand new TAPITAS menu in the evenings.

New hot tip: Krishna

We love Indian food at SkyBlue Mallorca so it is always a pleasure to discover a new restaurant which serves authentic and high quality Indian cusine on Mallorca.

Krishna has recently opened in Santa Ponsa, and is fast becoming very popular. We enjoyed a great meal there, had a chat with Mitul, the owner and even took a video interview of him.

Mitul explains: ‘At Krishna we have carefully selected key dishes from the various regions of India and our priority is to prepare them using the best available products, so for example, we use only high quality meats.’

Krishna is the name of a Hindu god (typically depicted as being blue) , the god of love and good vibrations.

Mojitos at Misa

Misa Braseria and Bar has fast become well known as being the third restaurant opened by the Marc Fosh Restaurants Group. Located inside the Mision de Sant Miquel Hotel, right in the centre of Palma, it offers a ‘brasserie’ style cuisine.

The Restaurant also has its own bar, the Misa Bar, which has a fantastic cocktails and drinks menu, as well as a snack menu, perfect for light lunches or afternoon snacks.

On Thursday the 14th of July, Misa bar will be welcoming the weekend in early with a special ‘Mojitos’ event. Enjoy the original new Mojito variations on offer at Misa (€5 each) and try the new complementary canapes. See you on the Misa terrace!

Coming up at St Regis Mardavall

St Regis Mardavall Mallorca and its gourmet restaurant Es Fum, organises regular wine and dine events, always together with local Mallorcan wineries, combining the wines with some of Thomas Kahl’s excellent cuisine.

The next one of these is coming up very soon, on the 13th of July and the menu will be accompanied with wines by Miquel Gelabert, one of Mallorca’s best known bodegas.

Book your place in advance to avoid disappointment.

Monkfish – bulgur, apricots, fried onions, Iberian pork cheeks

International week of Art and Music at Valldemossa

At Valdemossa Hotel  & Restaurant, from the 11th to the 17th of July,  it’s all about Art and Music, in collaboration with the Lions Club Palma who aim to raise money for the campaign ‘Food for All’. 

Have a tour of the daily exhibits, a cocktail with the artists and then, if you feel peckish, enjoy a delicious ‘Art Menu’ in what  Frédéric  Chopin described as ‘one of the most beautiful places on earth’. Gala dinner with prize presentation on Sunday July 17!

Bon Profit!

Bon Profit is Mallorcan for Bon Appetit! A useful phrase to know if you are living or holidaying in Mallorca…

And we have discovered a new restaurant called just that: Bon Profit!

On one of our first visits to this restaurant in the Port of Alcudia we watched the final of the Champions League, and happily witnessed Barcelona  FC making their way to victory.

Bon Profit offers good, affordable cuisine for all the family. The specialties include stone cooked meat, hamburgers, pizzas, salads and a variety of tapas. To be enjoyed in the well appointed interior or on the terrace.
